elegance for every occasion

Hello,

Phew! Its been pretty scorcio here - with the sun blazing and most of the vegetation looking ineed of some rain. I hope that you have had some of the good weather with you. And possibly a lovely summer holiday coming up. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Stone of the Month
Throughout the year, the birthstone for each month will be highlighted. Any piece of jewellery made with the "Stone of the Month"  will have 5% price reduction. This is currently an online exclusive.

July - Onyx

Onyx is the striped semi-precious variety of agate, with black and white bands. The name comes from the Greek word onux for "nail" or "claw" referring to the minerals colour.

The properties include aiding self-control, decision making, help to conquer challenges, intuition, recognition of personal strengths, grounding, protection. In healing lore Onyx is said to aide  stamina, childbirth, wound healing.

Bridal Jewellery

In May, I had the pleasure of attending a wedding, during which the bride wore jewellery that I had made. It was such a lovely wedding, and an added honour to have had made her jewellery. She was even kind enough to write me me a little card "As you can see, my bridal jewellery is beautiful! Thank you so much, will treasure it always, Tracey".

I met with Tracey before the wedding, to discuss the colours that she wanted and the styles of jewellery that she liked. As a result of these discussions, she decided on coin pearls, with small sterling silver beads and amethyst rondelles in between. Both the necklace and bracelet were finished with Karen silver rose clasps.

Maybe this year you are getting ready to celebrate your big day. Many congratulations! I hope that your preparations are going well and that you are enjoying all the planning.

While there are a few pieces of jewellery on the site that are made with the classic choice of pearl, each piece is made to order. If you are looking for something specific that you haven't seen on the site, please contact me with the details of the jewellery you would like for your day to fit your budget, style and colour scheme. It would be an honour to make your jewellery for your big day.

Maybe you are looking for some ideas for the favours you would like to give your guests. These pretty little bracelets, below, are made with semi-precious stones that have the same meanings as the five sugared almonds that are traditionally given at weddings. They symbolise the five wishes for the bride and groom: Health (Garnet), Wealth (Citrine), Happiness (Rose quartz), Fertility (Mother of pearl) and Long Life (Agate). Perfect if you like the sentiments of sugared almonds but would like to give something a little different. Each bracelet is individually wrapped in a natural colour gift box, made from high quality recycled and recyclable material tied with organza ribbon. Inside the bracelet sits on a cotton non-tarnish pad, wrapped in non-tarnish tissue with a little information card. The stones are thread on sterling silver soft flex is used and all other metal is sterling silver. If you would like bracelets of different sizes, please contact me with details when ordering, and I will be happy to make them for you.

You may like to offer your guests cute bookmarks like the ones below as favours. The one on the left and in the middle are made with Swarovski crystals, so can me made to suit your colours. The one of the right is made with a fossil heart, a rose quartz heart, Swarovski crystal and a Tibetan silver bird bead. Again these colours can be adjusted to suit your colours.

Or even add some extra tinkle to your guests glass as they toast your happy day. Below are some examples of some wine glass charms. The stones used are rock crystal, rose quartz, amethyst and moss agate. Many other charms are available, as well as stones, so again, these can be adjusted to suit your theme.

I would be delighted to discuss with you any ideas that you might have for your wedding.
